Senior
Engineer and Analyst
Richard has been involved
in computer science and engineering projects since 1984,
including programming, design, teaching, and writing in commercial
and academic environments.
Richard is particularly
knowledgeable about decision support systems for help desks and
technical support groups, having worked with Quintus, Hewlett-Packard,
and Visa on such systems. In addition, he has worked with Rational,
Silicon Graphics, and other companies to plan and establish technical
support groups and systems.
Richard has experience
designing, building, and testing client-server database applications
in a variety of enviroments, such as a housing management system,
a sales support and order fulfillment system, and bug tracking systems.
Richard has been a business
analyst and software architect. He has written business requirements,
technical specifications, and technical documentation for Visa,
Rational, Novell, and other companies.
Before joining Expert
Support, Richard was the Director of Operations for Rasna, an MCAE
software vendor. At Rasna, Richard directed the product definition,
design, development, and roll-out of Rasna's products, Applied Structures
and Applied Motion, on eight hardware platforms. He established
and managed the software quality assurance, testing, documentation,
training, and customer support departments.
Prior to Rasna, Richard
worked at Teknowledge, Inc., where he was a Senior Knowledge Engineer
and the Manager of Product Support. At Teknowledge, Richard worked
in: technical support, design and development of expert systems,
training delivery, course development, and documentation. Richard
worked on projects for Rockwell, Procter & Gamble, and General
Motors, assisting them in all phases of knowledge system project
development: project assessments, feasibility studies, knowledge
acquisition, system design, design reviews, implementation, code
reviews, testing, and fielding.
Richard has taught computer
science, physics, and mathematics at San Jose State University,
the College of San Mateo, and overseas.
